Eden Thermal Scan Project.

Take part in the Eden Thermal Scan Project.

Insulation and heat loss are terms and practices we’ll all need to embrace as we look to lower heating bills. One of the easiest ways to get a grip on reducing heating bills is to get a heat loss of your property.

Evolve Penrith is working with other local community groups across Eden to provide a free basic home thermal imaging survey for your home.

The fundamentals of Eden Thermal Scan Project is to help homeowners across Eden in communities taking part to identify if you’re leaking heat from your house, and were the heat is leaking from.

If your home is leaking out heat you will have to turn up the heating to keep rooms warm and at temperature, which uses more energy and pushed higher your home heating and energy bills.

The less heat that leaks out of your home, the less energy you need to keep it warm which cuts your energy bills and helps saves you money as energy bill spiral. Cutting heat loss also helps reduces the carbon footprint of your home.

Evolve Penrith are coordinating the deliver of the free thermal imaging scans with partner community groups and organisations across Eden to deliver the free domestic property scans for residents in communities taking part.

The scan is carried out externally on properties were one of the Eden Thermal scan project volunteers will walk around the house carrying out a thermal exterior scan with our Thermal camera and quickly and easy identify heat loss areas on your property.

The Thermal images will be digitally stored, and a copy provided to the household showing any heat loss problem areas your property may have.

The information will also e used to generate a community heat map with no personal date used in the creation of the community heat map.

The Eden Thermal Scan Project is a community led project that is provided free with no council, government or commercial funding. The project is delivered via the support of local community groups and organisation across Eden to help support and benefit the communities taking part to help reduce heating bills through providing a clear picture of heat loss from hoes in the area.

The Thermal image scans will only be carried out on properties that request to take part in the Eden Thermal Scan Project.

No internal access to any property is required by the volunteers carry out the thermal scan.

The thermal scans will be carried out between 4pm and 8pm Tue-Sat access to gardens may be required if clear street side views of properties are not accessible.

All volunteers will carry an Evolve Penrith Eden Thermal Scan Project ID as well as the thermal scan camera unit. Cumbria Police will be notified of the areas the volunteers will be carryout the scans in and approximate times in each area.
