Peoples Planning Assembly made up of individuals from the local community. The Peoples Planning Assembly will look at local planning applications and consider the application and give a balanced view of the community on applications to Eden Councils planning department to ensure applications have a local view of the community given. Evolve Penrith see the the Peoples Planning Assembly as a way to deliver a representative view of the community to be given around planning applications and the views of the local community.
The Peoples planning assembly will like any individual and organisations can under panning legislation give a view focused around planning policy and legislation with the local views expressed.
As the area goes through the changes to local government that will see Eden council and its planning department become part of a larger council covering Eden South Lakeland and Barrow.
Evolve Penrith believe a peoples planning assembly is a vital way of ensuring local views and opinions are protected and listened to on planning applications of the new bigger authority who’s planning department will cover a much larger area and be more detached from the local views and area as a result.
